Qarabali mimli - Maltese dish

Qarabali mimli

1 kg marrows
300 g minced meat
1 medium sized onion
30 g capers
50 g green olives
3 - 4 tablespoons of home made tomato sauce
Basil
Olive oil
Salt


How to make it:

Blanch the marrows for 10 minutes. Drain, allow to cool and cut lengthways. With the aid of a teaspoon, scoop out the flesh which you will set aside in a bowl. 
Place the hollowed-out courgette shells in an oiled baking dish.
Put the meat and the chopped onion, capers, olives and basil in the bowl containing the vegetable pulp. A few spoonfuls of tomato purée will blind the mixture better.
Mix well, spoon the mixture into the "shells", drizzle a little olive oil over and place in a hot oven for about 30 minutes.

!Tip : Add some Parmesan on top and serve it with fresh baguette and rose wine.
