Theeza's blood orange cake

250 g flour
250 g sugar
6 table spoon of water
6 eggs
2.5 tea spoon of baking powder

For the orange cream:

175 g sour cream
130 g icing sugar
500 ml whipping cream
2 blood oranges (juice, peel)
blood oranges cut fine (just the flesh)
2 table spoon of lemon juice
1 vanilla sugar

How to make it:

Separate the egg whites from the yolk.
Add to the yolk the sugar, the water and mix it foamy.
Drizzle the flour and the baking powder in a bowl then gradually add it to the yolk.
Beat the egg whites until it is foamy and add it carefully to the rest.
Put some baking paper on the bottom off the cake-pan and smear the sides with some butter then add the mixture.
Bake it at 180 °C. When done take it out and let it cool down.

The cream:

Pour the sour cream into a bowl.
Add the icing sugar, vanilla sugar, 2 oranges peel and juice, 2 oranges flesh finely sliced and the lemon juice.
Mix it well together. Mix the whipping cream with a robot until it is foamy and add the 3/4 to the rest.

Take the cake and cut it into 3 even slices(horizontally).
Smear evenly the cream between the slices and with the rest of the whipping cream cover the cake.
You can decorate it with pieces of blood oranges and melted dark chocolate.

!Tip : Use for decoration fruits only if the cake is served in the next day. If the cake sits for more than a day use only grated or melted dark chocolate. You can also replace the oranges with any kind of citrus fruits.
